About SparkLabs
Two people from Schuylkill County looked around and decided that enough was enough.
The coal region has creativity, talent, and drive in abundance — but for too long, people here have had to leave the area just to find access to the tools and community that let that creativity thrive. SparkLabs Makerspace is our answer to that. A place to build things, learn things, and connect with other people who are doing the same.
We're just getting started, and we need people like you to help make it real. Whether you want to volunteer your time, donate equipment, or simply spread the word — getting involved is how SparkLabs comes to life.
Our Mission
SparkLabs Makerspace exists to give the people of Schuylkill County and the surrounding region access to professional-grade tools, creative workspace, and a community of makers, builders, and learners — regardless of background or experience level.
Our Vision
We believe that when people have the right tools and the right community around them, they can build anything — businesses, art, skills, and futures. Pottsville and the coal region deserve a space like this. SparkLabs is that space.

Who's Behind SparkLabs
AJ — Co-Founder
AJ has deep roots in Schuylkill County and a lifelong passion for building things — both physical and digital. With a background spanning community theater, technology, and creative production, AJ brings a rare combination of hands-on technical skill and genuine enthusiasm for helping people discover what they're capable of making.
Robert — Co-Founder
Robert's background in community theater and construction gave him a first-hand view of what happens when creative people have the right resources and a supportive community around them. He brings that same collaborative spirit to SparkLabs — believing that the region's best work hasn't happened yet, and that SparkLabs can be the place where it starts.
Together, AJ and Robert share a conviction that Schuylkill County is ready for something like this — and a stubbornness about making sure it actually happens.
Community & Partnerships
SparkLabs is rooted in the community it serves. We're actively building relationships with local schools, businesses, arts organizations, and civic groups. If you represent an organization interested in partnering with us, we'd love to connect — reach out at
Be Part of the Beginning
SparkLabs is being built right now — by the two of us, and by everyone who believes the coal region deserves a place like this. You can be part of that story.
